Now on to the heavier, juicier and yummier stuff. Starting with two Mexican dishes, the Chimichanga and the Tex Mex Burrito.
The Chimichanga is chicken (or beef) wrap in homemade tortilla topped with Chili Con Queso and diced tomatoes. On the side, you have the frijoles refritos (Refried beans) and Mexican rice.

Chimichanga
The Tex Mex Burrito is similar to the Chimichanga with the difference that the tortilla is fried for the Tex Mex.

Here’s another Mexican dish, Chicken Tacos. With similar sidelines with the two dishes above, the tacos are filled with seasoned chicken (or beef) with lettuce, cheese and tomatoes.

Chicken Tacos
For the 3 Mexican dishes above, I didn’t comment much about them simply because Mexican food was new to my tongue. However, I do think the taco shell (I think I got that wrong..) should be crispier. That would be much better, for me at least.
Moving on to Texan/western dishes.
This is a must try, for only less than RM50 the Frontera Beef Ribs is the killer dish of the entire lot! I liked this the most because it’s tender and juicy. And you don’t get the smell that you usually get when eating ribs. I guess that’s because according to Larry, the ribs are cooked 10 hours in advanced with low heat, making the ingredients seep into the ribs better.

I tried the ribs again during my 2nd visit, and it was as good as the first time I ate it. However, the ribs were slightly cold and my family felt that there was too little sauce in it. If you find your ribs cold, don’t hesitate to get them reheated.
My old time favourite, fish and chips. Named Cajun Fish and Chips, it’s nearly typical fish and chips you can everywhere else. The only exception is the sauce that comes with it. Who says you have to have fish and chips with mayo? The special tartar sauce is slightly spicy but you can taste some thousand island in it as well. It goes well with the fish!

Finally, on to burgers! There were two burgers that I had the pleasure to try out, firstly the Chili Cheese Burger and the Chicken Ranch Sandwich.
The Chili Cheese Burger comes with a beef (or chicken, your choice) patty and it’s one of the American favourite burgers. Served with chips and some salad on the side, this would be a good try if you love beef.

However, I think you may have a hard time deciding between the both after you’ve tried the Chicken Ranch Sandwich. It’s another one of my favourite dish in Frontera! Tender and juicy, and surprising less oil compared to Fried chicken burgers you get from fast food joints. If I were to compare this to Carl’s Junior’s burgers, this would ultimately win without a doubt simply because it cost around RM15 and it’s tastier!

Btw, if you’re a fan of coffee, you should ask for a shot of XO Café. It’s a coffee based alcohol drink which.. Well you have to try it for yourself.

XO Café
That concludes my food review of Frontera Bar and Grill.
Give Frontera a try for parties or gatherings as well as it’s quite cozy for larger groups to dine. If you get the chance to meet Larry, ask him to let you try the hottest chilli they have. It’s an experience not to be missed! I’ve tried the Habanero, and wow, let’s see how long you can last without touching the antidote (milk).
