It’s been just too many years since I last seen a gold medal hung on my neck. I really miss it.
Tomorrow (Wed & Thurs) is my last major competition, MAPCU Inter university Bowling Tournament. After this I think I’ll officially retire from competitive bowling.
Previous MAPCU Tournaments got me a silver (2007 – Singles) and a 4th placing (2006 – Doubles). This year I’d really want a Gold. That would be really the cherry on the icing.
APIIT Bowling Club also has came a long way. 3 years as the head of the club/team. After this tournament also I’ll be stepping down and hopefully it will still survive as it will be run by the Uni from then on. Maybe I’ll stay back to just look-see or consult the members, but I have about 3 months more to go before I unofficially graduate. Even my advising lecturer said the future of the club depends on this tournament.
For the past 1 year, I’ve been tied down with injuries, one after another. Pulled tendon, knee joint, ankle growth, and the most recent one, whiplash injury. Still hurts when I bowl, but still, I want this. Badly.
Been bowling for the past 5-6 years. Owned a few balls, touched even more. *pun intended* From Raintree Bowling Development Team, to MSN Youth Development Program, Junior Circuit to Malaysian Open. Played in 6 different states, over 15 different bowling alleys. Only regret is not able to perform. I’m sure jealous of my bowlingmates who got into SUKMA and all.
*even my one of my sis won Junior Circuit*
Disappointment after disappointment. Hope this final chance, would be the final hurdle I’d overcome to end this on a high note. Maybe I’ll be bowling recreationally after this. Who knows kan?
I’ll be bowling at Sunway Pyramid, 4PM. Come cheer for me!
