Peanut Butter & Strawberry Jam

Today my friend is getting married, technically. Signing of papers at Putrajaya. I was there to record as things happen.
However, that is not what me gonna talk about. I’m gonna talk about how was my journey like to Putrajaya.
Usually I’ll be late to some things I need to attend (and occasionally I’ll wear my ‘sorry I’m late t-shirt.) but of course this time so I planned to leave earlier.
The day started with a very bad stomachache due to yesterday’s steamboat near Nigel’s place. After I’ve done my business, got down for breakfast and left at 7am, 2.5 hours before the newlyweds signing.
I intended to use the KL-Putrajaya highway, which starts at the Kampung Pandan roundabout (or what it used to be). From home, I used Jalan Gombak, which turned out to be horrible with morning jam.
On Jalan Gombak, there’s this traffic light where there’s too many people jumping the light because it was so jammed, people somehow got stuck in the yellow box when the light turn red. I was one of them. So usually when you’re in that situation, you either stop or continue on, and i continued on because i didn’t know it was red as the traffic light was right above my head and there wasn’t one in front of me to tell me it’s red.
There was this one motorcyclist, who drove in front of me, stopped in front of me, kicked my car, pointed to the light that it’s red, I looked at the light, which was directly above my car and I looked at him. He then kicked again and drove of cursing away.
I was dumbfounded lor. I’m already stuck there, what you want me to do wor.. idiot.
After being on that same road for a good 30 minutes, i decided to get off that road and get to Jalan Tun Razak via the new duke highway. I paid rm2 and reached Jalan Semarak (the police academy) within 3 minutes.
it was jammed right from the off ramp. After 15 minutes just off the off ramp, I decided to get back on the duke highway, go all the way to ampang, and use the conventional way to Putrajaya. However, due to duke highway’s design, there’s no on ramp to get towards Ampang, so i have to go back towards my house and make a u turn back to the highway.
So i had to go towards Jalan Air Panas, and look for an on ramp onto the duke highway. Once i got onto it, i paid another rm2 (Gombak bound) and when I reached the Sentul turn off I went down and waited for the traffic light before I can make a u turn.
At that traffic light, i could see a 6 lane road, 3-3 on each side, became 5-1 road derby heading towards Sentul. Somewhat like a contra-flow but there wasn’t one. It took me 2 traffic light cycles just to make a u turn. Crazy people. Where are the blue and white people when you need them the most?
Once i got back onto the duke highway, i paid another rm2 (Ampang bound) and reached the Ulu Klang exit. Ran into a slight jam, which was bearable. From there on was smooth.
Home > Jalan Gombak > Duke Highway > Jalan Semarak > Jalan Air Panas > Duke Highway > Sentul > Duke Highway > Ampang > Putrajaya = 2.5 hours.
I reached earlier than the newlyweds did btw.
A lot of bad luck lately huh.
