The Road Not Taken
Written on September 24, 2008 by CincauHangus
hen we all reach a crossroad, we are given choices, or a choice. Whether we like it or not, we still have to pick a road to travel on. If we sit and wait, nothing is going to change but time.
If we take the time to stop and just savour the moment, we see time and time again, it’s always the safe path that we take, following others. But if we take too much time savouring, we’ll lose our opportunity to progress and excel.
There’s always the safe path. And there’s always the road not taken.
Now I’m at a crossroad, my key to the future. I’m running out of time. Should I cut my losses and work with what I can do for the next month, or go on with the spirit of completing my work, hoping it will be done.
Now I’m at a crossroad, my career path. I’m blessed with a skill. Should I go down the path that others are taking or should I exploit it to the full use? Or should I even work and just continue with my studies?

Two roads diverged in a yellow wood,
I’m sorry I could not travel both
And be one traveler, long I stood
And looked down one as far as I could
To where it bent in the undergrowth;
Then took the other, as just as fair,
And having perhaps the better claim,
Because it was grassy and wanted wear;
Though as for that the passing there
Had worn them really about the same,
And both that morning equally lay
In leaves no step had trodden back.
Oh, I kept the first for another day!
Yet knowing how way leads on to way,
I doubted if I should ever come back.
I shall be telling this with a sigh
Somewhere ages and ages hence:
Two roads diverged in a wood, and I—
I took the one less traveled by,
And that has made all the difference.
I’m at a crossroad. Take on the future with baggage, or take on the future with an empty bag vying for new experiences.
I’ve decided and I hope that has made all the difference.
